Why set up a website?

For my Child, Adolescent and Family Health Nursing course, it was decided that one of our tasks would be to develop a community resource file and workable index system for community child health related services. It needed to be a practical and useable resource and most importantly, be able to be used when employed as a CFHN.
The resource portfolio has been set up as a webpage on the wordpress management site. It will have an index of topics along the side, allowing information and resources to be found quickly, and will also give visitors to the site a chance to comment, and even network with each other, if desired.
The rationale behind this choice of format was that as a living document, on the internet, it remains a single source of information, that can be easily modified.
A website is able to reach more people, and encourages the community to interact with one another and provide support.
The community can be kept up to date with any relevant information or announcements, and can comment on the site, offering suggestions or share information with one another.
